Google Stand At The Democratic National Convention Made From Used Shipping Containers

Google’s exhibition at The Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA has been made from 32 used brightly painted shipping containers.

Google’s presence at the 2012 Democratic National Convention is contained in a structure built around both used 20ft and 40ft shipping containers.

The tech giant has put entire data centers in shipping containers in the past but its marketing operation in Charlotte, North Carolina, aimed at raising the company’s profile among the media and politicians attending the event, aims for a different kind of networking.

The Google operation at the DNC includes broadcasting facilities for YouTube, which is livestreaming the convention; places to relax away from the convention floor and recharge your smartphone; a self-driving car; and kiosks touting the ways Google helps small businesses.
